NEW DELHI: It was a busy day at work for many
bureaucrats in the Capital on Christmas Day as several ministries held events
to mark Good Governance Day. Leading the pack was the Ministry of
Communications and IT with minister Ravi Shankar Prasad launching
many projects at a function and inaugurating a multimedia day-long exhibition
where senior babus from his ministry and the I&B ministry,
including I&B Secretary BimalJulka, were present.
Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Dharmendra
Pradhan, held a video conference with government officials across India, while
inaugurating a Mission Office in New Delhi where Petroleum Secretary Saurabh
Chandra and other senior officials were present. Pradhan held a programme for
expansion of 5 kg LPG cylinders here.
Rural Development Minister Birender Singh
organised a function to release a book on the occasion of the Pradhan Mantri
Gram Sadak Yojana Divas to coincide with Good Governance Day where secretary LC
Goyal and other senior bureaucrats of the ministry were present. Civil Aviation
Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati released a publication at the
inauguration of the implementation of 'eoffice' in the Ministry of Civil Aviation
where senior officials were in attendance.
Coal Minister Piyush Goyal also launched a
portal for e-auction of coal mines while Health Minister JP Nadda launched
Mission Indradhanush regarding a massive vaccination drive, necessitating
the presence of officials.
Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma accompanied PM
Modi to Varanasi with secretary, ministry of culture, Ravindra Singh, and the
secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Lalit Panwar, in tow. Science & Tech
Minister Harsh Vardhan launched SMS-based weather information services by IMD
to mark Good Governance Day.
