Finally, after a string of rumours and
speculations, Xiaomi has announced its highly anticipated Mi 4 in
India. Priced at Rs 19,999, the device will hit store shelves on February 10
via the usual flash sale on Flipkart.
The Mi 4 sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels)
IPS display with 441 ppi resolution, and gets a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass
3 protection. the smartphone is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon
801 processor coupled with 3GB RAM.
On the camera front, the handset gets a 13MP
rear snapper with LED Flash, Sony IMX214 BSI sensor and supports 4K video
recording. It also has a whooping 8MP front-facing camera with Sony Exmor R
sensor for selfies and video-conferencing. The device will be made available in
16GB or 64GB storage space.
The Mi 4 comes with Android 4.4.3
KitKat pre-installed, with a layer of the MIUI 6 OS skin. It MIUI 6 focuses on
features like colour, motion, customisation, security and content, says the
company. Compared to the previous iteration, it comes with small subtle
differences. Icons come with motion graphics built into them. The notifications
section has been divided into important and unimportant sections.
In terms of connectivity, the phone has 4G
LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth and GPS. It
has a 3,080 mAh battery. The device measures 139.2 x 68.5 x 8.9mm and weighs
149 grams.

today.
