A brand new and unannounced Xolo Play 8X-1020 has sneaked its way into the open for a price of Rs 9999 and less through eBay India and Mahesh Telecom. It has joined the long lineup of ‘selfie phones’ that have been hitting the market with alarming regularity of late, thanks to its front-facing camera accompanied by flash.
The Xolo Play 8X-1020 carries an octa core chip and works on the Android KitKat OS. It has a 5-inch touchscreen of 720p resolution nailed across its front and 1GB of RAM inside. Because you’re likely to fall short of the 8GB of memory aboard, the company has slipped in a microSD card slot that can accommodate a card of up to 32GB.
If you flip this Xolo smartphone onto its front, you’ll see an 8MP camera on the back panel. It features a Sony Exmor R sensor and is supported by dual LED flash too. For those who’d like to juggle between different mobile numbers, there’s room for a couple of SIM cards under the hood.
The Play 8X-1020 offers standard fare when it comes to connectivity, including support for 3G networks, Wi-Fi, aGPS and Bluetooth. Mahesh Telecom’s Facebook post makes no mention of how much usage time you can expect from the 2500mAh battery powering the handset.
